Prince’s Trust Red Dinner – February 2013
The Prince’s Trust turned Clifton College red with a dinner and auction, raising funds to help young people in the South West. While most fundraising events would settle for a red carpet, Soul singer Beverley Knight wowed guests with a performance on the night, while impressionist Jon Culshaw acted as host. To complete the red theme, the Mayor of Bristol, George Ferguson, auctioned his famous red trousers. The Trust decked the entire venue ruby red and invited the 200 guests to wear something scarlet to match.
The auction was conducted by renowned antique expert and BBC’s Antique’s Roadshow host, Eric Knowles. Prizes included a luxury week’s stay in a transatlantic crossing on board Queen Mary 2 and a bespoke culinary experience for eight with private chef Tom Green.
Jon Culshaw said:
“There are so many young people out there who have the potential to be great, but because of their circumstances, don’t have the opportunities to achieve.”
